What this means is that most characters in the game have only one non-basic throw (often refered to as an 'instant', 'vector', or 'command' throw). So while they may have a throw that requires a special break, apart from their 1+2 throw, their basic throws can still be option selected by inputting said specific break. As such you can approach most matches totally disregarding one option to break, thereby at worst case becoming a 50/50, regardless of opponent skill and decision making. In a way this is comparable to Soul Calibur where certain throws are favored over others dependent on ring positioning, where not realizing a specific character's throw will ring you out (causing you to instantly lose the round).
